For 46ers, the eastern trailhead for Rocky Peak Ridge and Giant Mountain is just 8 minutes away! Keene Valley's AMR Parking Lot and The Garden Trailhead are just 15-20 minutes away, and the Adirondack Loj parking area is just 35 minutes away, giving hikers easy access to all of the eastern High Peaks.

Skiing - The Inn is perfectly situated between Whiteface Mountain and Gore Mountain--the two top ski resorts in all of New York State. Use the Inn as your home base and ski both mountains the same weekend! (ideal for SKI3 pass holders)

Mountain Biking - Elizabethtown is becoming a destination for recreational mountain bikers, with dozens of miles of trail systems at Otis Mountain, Blueberry Hill, and Cobble Hill that can accommodate everyone from novice to expert riders.

Canoeing/Kayaking - Bring or rent a canoe or kayak to explore nearby Lincoln Pond, spectacular Lake Champlain, or any of the hundreds of scenic lakes, ponds, and rivers in the area.

Fishing - Fish for largemouth bass, northern pike, and tiger muskie in Lincoln Pond; smallmouth and largemouth bass, northern pike, lake trout, landlocked salmon, and walleye in Lake Champlain; and brook trout, small brown trout, and salmon in the Boquet River.

Transportation:
The Park Motor Inn is located steps away from the intersection of New York State Routes 9 and 9N, and just minutes from Interstate 87, making it an ideal home base for day trips to Lake Placid, New York (35 min); Burlington, Vermont (1 hr 20 min); and Montreal, Quebec (1 hr 45 min). So don't forget your passport! The Westport, New York Amtrak station--on the New York City to Montreal "Adirondack" line-- is just 10 minutes away, and free rides to/from the station can be arranged with advance notice. The Lake Champlain Ferries provide easy and scenic access to Vermont via the Essex, NY - Charlotte, VT crossing (25 min) and the Plattsburgh, NY - Grand Isle, VT crossing (50 min). And the stunning Lake Champlain Bridge to Vermont is just 35 minutes away.
